Acumatica Tips and Tricks - How to create or change workspace categories in Acumatica Cloud ERP?

Here is the scenario I ran into:

I was adding a new staff dashboard and wanted to add it to a ‘Dashboard: Staff’ category.  So, what is the trick to add this category?

The Solution 

On the dashboards screen SM208600, I create a staff dashboard and try to link to a new workspace category.  However, there is no ability to add a workspace category from here.

To add a new workspace, I need to go to the Dashboard workspace and open the configuration menu and Edit Menu.

I click on ‘Menu Settings’ in the upper left and click on the ‘Add Category’

I add the category I need

The category is now added

Now back to the dashboards screen SM208600, and pull up the staff dashboard and try to link to a Dashboard: Staff workspace category. 

The category I added previously is now visible.

The Dashboard: Staff category is now visible, and the staff dashboard is attached to this category.
