If you use Change Orders (CO) to amend project budgets, here is something to keep your eyes on. If a CO line does not come from existing revenue or cost budget lines (i.e., new items added using ‘+’), the released CO line will not display the correct quantity in the project.
Let me demonstrate with the following example. I have a fixed price project with no initial revenue budget lines (see Figure 1).
Figure 1. Fixed price project with no initial budget.
In my CO, I added a stock item and a non-stock item.
Figure 2. Test items on Change Order
After releasing the CO, the project’s Revenue Budget displays both lines without UOM (see Figure 3). This caused the Budgeted CO Quantity and Revised Budgeted Quantity not to update. Even though their respective amounts come through correctly, invoicing will not display the correct quantities and UOM.

To fix this issue, specify the missing UOM in the lines created from the CO and click ‘Recalculate Project Balance’ (Actions > Recalculate Project Balance). This will update missing quantities and realign all field values.
