Here is the scenario I ran into:
On the purchase order screen PO301000, I printed the purchase order to screen.
I reviewed the PO and then clicked on the send button.
On the email body it stated, “Thank you for choosing Revision Two Products”. That would be fine for an invoice to a customer but with this purchase I am the customer that chose the vendor. The template needs to be changed.
To make the change I went to the “PurchaseOrderNotification” template and removed the “for choosing” from the signature line.
After saving the changes, I went back to the PO and clicked on the send button expecting to see my changes.
“Thank you for choosing” is still there. Why is this happening?
Did I forget to save? I went back to the notification template and it was as I wanted. I logged off Acumatica and logged back hoping that this would make things work. Still nothing.
The Solution
In the above scenario, I chose to send the PO from the print purchase order screen. This is the key. Like me, a lot of users want to look over the PO before sending it out. But when you do, the notification template that is used is embedded in the report.
I open the report PO641000 in the Acumatica Report Designer and expand the Mail Settings. This is what is used for the email template when chose to send the PO from the print purchase order screen.
In the body section we get the eureka moment.
I made the changes and published the report. I went back to the PO and clicked on the send button expecting to finally see my changes. SUCCESS!
