On October 7, 2020, Acumatica announced that they published their first Canadian localization so customers in Canada can implement features specific to their needs. The Central Nervous Systems (CNS) team was involved during the consultation period and we are delighted with the release of this localization package for our Canadian customers. What is in this localization? Let us unpack its features and look at their benefits.
This localization is designed to assemble features, setup, and processes that make Acumatica ERP compliant with the requirements of the Canadian market, which includes language, tax configuration, banking interfaces and other features.
This edition for 2020R1 comes in two parts: functional changes and French translation of the UI and the Wiki. Each part is a customization package and can be used independently.
It is particularly worth noting the preconfigured taxes setup for different Canadian tax zones (e.g. federal GST & provincial PST in British Columbia in Manitoba, HST in Ontario) and the incorporation of tax rules that automatically limit the deduction for food, beverages and entertainment expenses to 50%.
Other functional changes include:
Cash Discount calculations for SO Invoice documents to always calculate based on document total excluding taxes
Bank Transfers through electronic payments via the Payments Canada network. This support comes in the form of an export scenario that generates a file in CPA005 format for Batch Payments
Inter-branch Reinvoicing and Billing to simplify the creation of AP and AR documents in different branches
The French Canadian Language Pack provides French translations in printed forms and the user interface when the French locale is being used.
